Boston Bar Foundation
The Boston Bar Foundation is the charitable affiliate of the Boston Bar Association. It works to support access to the justice system, especially for the poor. The Foundation raises funds and awards grants to projects which provide legal services to the disadvantaged and enhance public understanding of the rule of law in a just society.

The Boston Foundation

The Community Foundation of Cape Cod is a publicly supported, tax-exempt organization designed to foster and encourage philanthropy and charitable giving in Barnstable County, Cape Cod. Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts

The Trust funds projects in New England in the areas of health, education and the environment. The Trust also makes grants to support the development of philanthropy in New England. The Trustees are interested particularly in projects which primarily benefit underserved populations and disadvantaged communities in New England, as well as projects which focus on prevention rather than remediation

Draper Laboratory
Supports nonprofit, community, civic, and educational programs and organizations that seek to better the life of the local community in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Eastern Enterprises Foundation/Boston Gas Co.- Youth (Now KeySpan) 
Most of the Foundation's grants are concentrated in New York region spanning Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and Nassau and Suffolk counties, the state of New Jersey and up into the New England states of Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

The Fassino Foundation
The Foundation grants a limited amount of college scholarships to specific high schools. Recipients are selected by the scholarship committee and no unsolicited applications are accepted.

The Fuller Foundation, Inc.
Our purpose is to support non-profit agencies which improve the quality of life for people, animals and the environment. Our geographic focus area is predominately the Boston area and the immediate seacoast area of New Hampshire.

The Charles Hayden Foundation makes contributions only to institutions that serve children and youth ages 3 to 18 from the metropolitan areas of New York and Boston. Priority is given to applicants from New York City and Boston.

The Hyams Foundation, Inc. 
In recent years the Foundation has increased its focus on the needs of low-income neighborhoods and communities. It also has stressed the importance of developing and maintaining the capacity of local nonprofit organizations to address these needs. The Foundation takes pride in the many accomplishments of those it has supported. At the same time, it recognizes that the quality of life in many local neighborhoods is not what residents desire, as poverty, physical deterioration and crime become increasingly concentrated in certain geographic areas.

Charles Hayden Foundation. - Boston
Emphasis: Youth Development and Education. Priority is given to programs that intervene early in young people’s lives, before a pattern of failure has been established, and continuously provide opportunities and supports over many years. Metropolitan Boston includes the City of Boston and adjacent municipalities located on the east side of an arc from Salem to Quincy that is roughly delineated by Route 128.

The Roy A. Hunt Foundation
When categorized according to the Foundation Center's Grants Classification System, the majority of grants are made in support of Arts and Culture, Environment, Health, and Human Services. While the Foundation also supports Education, preference is given to educational institutions of particular interest to individual trustees. 
 

Massachusetts Bar Foundation 
Through its grant programs and charitable activities, the foundation represents the commitment of the lawyers of Massachusetts to improve the administration of justice, to promote an understanding and appreciation of the judicial system and to ensure equal access to the fair and efficient resolution of legal disputes.

Massachusetts Environmental Trust
Guided by the Board of Trustees and in consultation with other environmental specialists, the Trust funds nonprofit organizations, municipalities, scientists and educational institutions to further its goals: to restore, protect and improve the quality of the waterways of the Commonwealth; to increase understanding of Massachusetts waters and the effects of human activities upon them; and, to encourage public involvement in activities that promote these waters as living resources and public treasures for present and future citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

A humanities programming and grant making organization that receives support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and from private sources as well as the NEH

THE GOALS OF THE MERCK FAMILY FUND ARE: Restore and protect the natural environment and ensure a healthy planet for generations to come.  Strengthen the social fabric and the physical landscape of the urban community.

New England Biolabs Foundation
Areas of Interest: Provides support to grassroots organizations working with the environment, social change, the arts, elementary education, and science.The Foundation only funds projects in the US which are located in New England. Any educational or community projects are limited to Boston and the North Shore.

New England Foundation for the Arts
The New England Foundation for the Arts connects the people of New England with the power of art to shape our lives and improve our communities. Programs provide support for artists in community, in studio, in collaboration, and in exchange; touring and distribution; and professional development. The Foundation also leads initiatives in the arts and community development, the arts and technology, cultural facilities, and international exchange.

The Riley Foundation
Boston continued to be the primary focus for the Foundation, with 99 percent of grant dollars allocated for projects within the city limits. Smaller grants were made to organizations in Chelsea, Newton and Cape Cod. The largest percentage of grants were made to: human services organizations - 34 percent; community development and housing - 26 percent; education and job training - 25 percent.

Roxbury Highland Charitable Foundation - Boston
The mission of the Roxbury Highland Charitable Foundation is to strengthen the communities of Jamaica Plain and Roxbury by broadening and enriching the cultural and educational opportunities and expanding the health services available to the residents.

One-year grants of up to $50,000 are awarded to non-profit organizations located near Sun's major employment centers in the southern San Francisco Bay Area in California, the Merrimack Valley in Massachusetts, and the West Lothian District of Scotland.
